NSA election surprise

It is amazing to me that Moscolo, Correctiv or others have not investigated and followed up with the story of the NSA's tapping of Merkel's phone approximately six years prior to her first becoming Chancellor. Whatever information was gathered has kept her, to some degree, captive and certainly has compromised her ability to protect German families relative to American interests. It would not surprise me if this were leaked late in the election campaign this summer.
